Teaching Medical Students (Graduate Students)

Our Practice is part of the Rural Clinical School of the Australian National University Medical School (ANUMS).

Web http://medicalschool.anu.edu.au/

We have regular attachments of Medical Students as part of their  training and will undertake supervised consultations. It is important for the future of Rural General Practice that such teaching occurs. However, should you wish to consult the doctor without the student being present, ask the receptionist or doctor, and this will be easily arranged.

Teaching Post Graduate Medical Practitioners

From time to time doctors may be attached to our practice - they could include doctors completing their training as part of General Practitioner training programmes through ACCRM or RACGP. This programme is organised by GPET Training Providers. CoastCityCountry Training is the Regional Training Provider responsible for GP Registrar Training in Southern NSW. Overseas-trained doctors (IMG) International Medical Graduates

TRDs usually enter Australia to work in medical positions designated as being 'area of need' by the relevant State or Territory health authority. Alternatively, they may enter as occupational trainees to undertake clinical specialist training.
TRDs are generally granted conditional registration in Australia. These doctors are also subject to supervision by an appropriately qualified Australian medical practitioner. Currently there is no formal assessment of the level of theoretical and clinical skills expected of TRDs
